| Padma Sambhava, by the Tibetans
called Guru Rinpoohe (the Precious Teacher) or
Pema Jungne (the Lotus-born), is the enlightened
Yogi who introduced Buddhism in Tibet in the
years from 746 AD. He is a direct emanation of
the Buddha Öpagme (AMITABHA, the BUDDHA of
limitless light). On his trident pointed staff
are three severed heads representing hatred,
desire and stupidity. He has overcome these
mind-poisons and can now wear them as ornaments.
He embodies the limitless liberating wisdom, the
skillful means, the bliss and compassion of all
BUDDHAs. |
