CHENREZIG

CHENREZIG, the compassion of all BUDDHAS united in one form. Every single symbol and ornament denotes different aspects of His perfect Enlightenment. The blessing of CHENREZIG is invoked through the King of Mantras: OM MANI PEME HUNG. The vibrations from the syllable OM removes the pride, MA the jealousy, NI the egotistical desire, PE the ignorance, ME the greed and avarice and HUNG the hate and anger of ourselves and all beings. By constantly repeating this Mantra, and in our mind sending Light and Love to all, all beings and we receive limitless benefit. Say it many times.
Chenrezig is the heart son of Buddha Amitabha. For limitless kalpas, Chenrezig cultivated indomitable courage to bring sentient beings to the state of liberation. He made the commitment in front of Buddha Amitabha to benefit all sentient beings until the exhaustion of samsara. His main emanation abides in Potala, Chenrezig's buddhafield. Buddha Shakyamuni instructed him to benefit many sentient beings by his activities in Tibet, where the Buddha had not been. In Tibet, he manifested in the monkey bodhisattva who established humans in Tibet. In the seventh century, he manifested as King Songtsen Gampo, and later, as many other Dharma kings. He manifested in the form of many spirtual masters, such as Drom Tompa and so forth. In this manner, he established the complete form of Buddhism in Tibet and benefited countless sentient beings. In a sutra, it is said, "Hearing the name and qualities of Chenrezig with faith becomes a cause to purify even the five heinous negative karmas, and hearing the name becomes a cause to make a connection to be born in Dewachen, the Buddha Amitabha's pureland. Hearing the six syllable mantra once in the ear makes the connection to be reborn in the higher realms. Even if one prints this with devotion on rocks or stones or to have seen such, one will attain the non-returning stage and become a leader to benefit many. Even reciting this mantra at the ear of dying animals will make the connection to be reborn in Dewachen. It possesses inconceivable beneficial effects."
